Pretty

I've been trying to sneak photos of my favorite local oddities - like this Mosque in Khobar that's right behind a McDonald's, but some of the peculiarities can't be captured. Life here, with all it's quirks, consistently captivates me. The differences between my normal life and this one are a-freaking-stounding. Por ejemplo,

normal: cold
here: warm

normal: college kids, predominantly caucasian
here: families (and nothing but families) of all ethnic backgrounds

normal: my job
here: laying on the couch, going shopping and getting lebnah bread with honey

normal: people talk about trips up North
here: people talk about trips to Hong Kong, Italy and Kenya (and that's just this week)

Truth be told, I definitely miss the people from my normal life (and my job, too...a little).
