En Lima (for the first time!)
Right now I´m biting on a big chunk of papaya in Alex (our translator/hosts) apartment. We have been here one day and have been all over the city already - playing volleyball in Boca Negra, a not-so wealthy part of the city, and walking through downtown Lima - the business district and ancient temple ruins that are stuck in the middle of the city. It is far more comfortable here than I anticipated. The only semi-hardship is no warm water anywhere...which isn´t a hardship at all. It is my new substitute para cafe. I love the chatter of Spanish everywhere and salsa music is playing somewhere nearby at all times (always outside our window). Right now, we are getting ready to go to the University in Lima, to meet another translator/friend, and tomorrow night we leave for Chile. Keep on the praying for us!

anna! i'm so glad you are having a great time so far and i can't wait to hear more stories!
thank you for blogging and updating!! Tell Alex Hi, and that he owes me an email...=)
Tell everybody hi for me too! Man, I miss those guys.
Alex & Daniel are here right now and they say hey to you (Anita & Ben & the rest) right back! Alex says he is processing your email, Anita, and will write back when he has time to contemplate it. He is playing bass for us right now and Daniel is teaching us French & Italian, too.
